Stopper vs. USA

Naval Jet F14 crashes near El Toro Road by El Toro Marine Base. The 18-year old plaintiff was driving to the base with her 6-month old baby boy in the back baby seat. Out of the corner of her eyes she say a jet plane coming down into the field towards her car. The plane hit the ground and exploded like a napalm bomb. The explosion engulfs her car in shrapnel and fire. Two Marines were repairing wire on on a nearby telephone pole. They pulled out the mother and baby. The baby had heat swelling for a week and some slight scars which disappeared by the trail date. The mother had a huge chunk of left thigh removed from shrapnel coming through her car door. U.S. Attorney offered $15,000 to settle both claims. Judge Verdict $15,000 for baby and $182,000 for mother. Federal Court Verdict $182,000. Federal District L. A.

Small Plane Crash

Our client in this wrongful death case was the family of a 58-year-old realtor named Bob Fenrich who died in a small plane crash caused by pilot error. The $1.4 Million settlement provided support for the man's surviving spouse and an adult disabled child who still lived at home.
